Everything You Need to Know About Quartz

Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth. It is composed of silicon and oxygen. They are engineered into stone form, unlike granite or marble. Although these manmade slabs were not readily accepted in the beginning, they became popular when homeowners realised that the engineered stones can be in every way good as the natural stones.

At its purest form, Quartz is hard, transparent, and colourless. Once Quartz is mined they are mixed with substances like resin and colour pigments. They are then to make it suitable for use. Since it is handmade, an endless variety of colours, designs, and patterns can be incorporated with the Engineered Quartz Stones (EQS). Quartz in the form of crystals is said to have healing properties. Quartz mineral is found in many semi-precious stones and is used as jewellery. EQS are widely used for wall cladding, tabletops, countertops, stairs, flooring applications, bathtubs, backsplash, fountains, monuments, decorative pieces etc. They are suitable for both indoor or outdoor applications and commercial or residential setups.

Here are some of the benefits of using Quartz:
Hard, strong, and durable
Easy to maintain
Non- porous and thus frequent sealing is not required
Highly resistant to scratches, stains, spills, or surface-level damages
Lustrous and found in abundance

As EQS has properties that ensure a long lifeline of the stone, they remain as a cheaper alternative for granite. At Hilltop we provide a wide variety of Quartz slabs suitable for various setups. Quartz slabs are available in the following sizes
